A Child’s Hope is a community in Haiti committed to giving lost and abandoned children a home, a hope, and a future. Axoscape was involved with the original design of the orphanage and led several community-based design charrettes that involved Studio RED Architects as well as architecture students from University of Houston.
In 2017, we installed solar panels along with Freedom Solar (out of Austin) at our orphanage on top of the mountains near Jacmel.
In 2018, we were back to Haiti to install an Aquaponics farm, a system that includes conventional aquaculture, like raising fish, snails or prawn in tanks with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) so they can grow their own food.
Not only will this help feed the children but also will allow them to gain valuable horticulture skills, save water and provide goods to the local market atop this remote mountain village.
In partnering with Raleigh Jenkins of ABC Home and Commercial, Axoscape works alongside missionaries to build a home for lost and abandoned kids in Haiti.
